Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about booking, documents, and how our service works in Dominican Republic.

4Drive Dominican Republic connects travelers with local suppliers. You book through us, receive a voucher, and sign your agreement directly with the supplier at pickup. Below are the questions we hear most often.

Booking & Payment

Understanding the reservation process and what happens after you confirm.

How does the booking process work?
Select dates and vehicle on our website, complete the reservation form, and pay the booking advance online. You receive a voucher by email within minutes. Present the voucher at the supplier counter in Punta Cana or Santo Domingo to collect your vehicle.
What is the booking advance?
The advance secures your reservation. Final terms, including any deposit requirements, are listed on your voucher and handled directly with the supplier at pickup. We act as the platform connecting you to local companies.
Can I change or cancel my reservation?
Contact us at [email protected] or call +1 809 468 2253. Changes depend on supplier policy and how far in advance you notify us. Each voucher states the cancellation terms for that specific booking.

Driver Requirements & Documents

What you need to bring to the pickup counter.

What documents do I need?
Valid passport, driver licence held for at least two years, and your printed or digital voucher. Some suppliers accept licences in Latin alphabet without translation; others may request an international driving permit. Check your voucher for specific requirements.
What is the minimum age to drive?
Most suppliers set the minimum at 21 years. Drivers under 25 may face a young-driver surcharge payable locally. Premium and larger vehicles often require the driver to be 25 or older.
Do I need a credit card?
No. Our partners offer options without credit card and without deposit at the counter. Payment terms are on your voucher. Keep cash or debit card for fuel and tolls during your trip.

Fuel, Tolls & Driving

Practical details for your time on Dominican roads.

What is the fuel policy?
Full-to-full: you collect the vehicle with a full tank and return it full. Texaco and Shell stations are widespread along Autovia del Este and in Punta Cana. Bring the fuel receipt if the supplier requests proof of refill.
Are tolls included?
No. Tolls on Autovia del Este and Coral Highway are paid by the driver. Keep small bills; booths rarely accept cards. Budget a modest amount for the Santo Domingo route or La Romana trips.
What if I have a problem during the hire period?
Contact the supplier using the phone number on your voucher. For breakdowns or accidents, follow the procedure listed in your agreement. You can also reach our team at +1 809 468 2253 Monday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM AST, and we will coordinate with the supplier.
Where is your office located?
Boulevard Turistico del Este, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Pickup and drop-off occur at the supplier location specified on your voucher, often near PUJ airport or in Bavaro hotel zone.
